Prayer GuideUndoubtedly the most important aspect of the New Wave Faith Journey is prayer - asking the Holy Spirit to lead us. Although the desired outcome of this process is our ability to have more space for the future and to be more effective in reaching people, the process to get there is a spiritual and faith-filled one. The process we want to undertake, if done right, will help each of us grow closer to God as we seek Him, hear His voice, step out in faith and obedience and follow Him into the future.
The Devotional section in this Faith Journey Guide will help you through your personal journey of prayer and surrender. A prayer that we encourage everyone in our church family to pray in this season is, “God, what do you want to do through me?” Additionally, during the course of the New Wave Faith Journey, each household will receive a keepsake prayer box on February 25/26 as a reminder of our New Wave Faith Journey. Over the following four weeks; March 4/5; 11/12; 18/19; and 25/26, you will receive a magnet with a prayer and scripture reference to pray, meditate on and discuss as a family. These four magnets will guide you through ACTS; adoration, confession, thanksgiving and submission. The magnets are designed to guide you through the New Wave Faith Journey; however, they may also be used for any purpose or time of prayer. After the campaign, the magnets will fit neatly into your prayer box as a keepsake or reminder of the New Wave Faith Journey. It is important that we, as a Church Body, also pray for others. We call this intercessory prayer. Intercessory prayer can be defined in two ways:
Here are some prayer points that we’ll be praying in this season as individuals, LifeGroups, and as a church: The Vision and Values of Mariners Church
Those Far From God New Wave is all about reaching people who are far away from God. We are building a building so that we can continue to build people. We have many reasons to pray, and many of those are people who are far from God right now.

Prayer
You have to do more than pray, but do not do anything until you pray! Begin by using the following as a guide:
Adoration
Celebrate how great God is; invite the Holy Spirit to lead your time of prayer.
Confession
Admit areas in your life that may be outside of God’s will for you or areas that may not be pleasing to God. You can even confess your hesitation to engage in the process.
Thanksgiving
Think about the many aspects of your life for which you can be grateful. Many times we are more blessed than we think. Thank God for your family, friends and all the great things God has done in your life.
Surrender
Relinquish all that you are and all you have to God. This may be the hardest part of this prayer progression. Open your time, talents and treasure up to the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
